During the WAGAC 2023 World Aerobatic Gliding Championship held at the Toruń Airport in the Republic of Poland, the towing line was disconnected from the towing aircraft during the climb phase while towing the Margansky MDM-1 Solo Fox glider. As a result, the glider began to fall.
The glider pilot managed to leave the plane at about 1,000 meters above the ground.
To save his life he used the ATL-88/90-1 parachute, registration no. 2098227, manufactured by MarS a.s., which delivered it safely to the ground.
